‘A Walk to Remember’: BLISS Breaking the Silence ( Published: 23/05/2025)
On the 10th May 2025, members of BLISS took to the hills of the Peak District in a ‘BLISS Memory Walk’. BLISS was founded by Sarah Lyons at Parrs Wood High School, and provides support and advocacy to colleagues across our GMET schools who have experienced infertility and baby loss.
The walk is an opportunity for BLISS members to come together away from work and have the opportunity to reflect, remember and share their own experiences of infertility and baby loss. Whether they were there for support, or to show solidarity to a colleague, friend or family member, everyone in the group enjoyed a truly beautiful, reflective, supportive and positive get together. The views were stunning and the day ended with a gorgeous afternoon tea.
The walks are just one way we support each other as colleagues and open up conversation. Knowing staff feel that support and that we are making a difference makes me so proud of the little life that sparked BLISS.
