He has held numerous roles as both a headteacher and as the first Executive Principal of Greater Manchester Learning Trust.
As Chief Executive Officer of Greater Manchester Education Trust he is tasked with growth and development of the Trust and developing excellence in the educational experience of children across its schools. He was a member of the Ofsted Focus Group for schools in challenging circumstances, developing the ways in which schools are inspected. Mr Owen holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL) and is an accredited Pupil Premium Reviewer. He has provided a range of successful school to school support and development across the Greater Manchester area.
