Andrew Mullen

Andrew Mullen, Vice Chair of Trustees, Greater Manchester Education Trust
Andrew has over 35 years’ experience in HR mostly at a senior level. He is currently Deputy Director of People and Organisational Development at the University of Manchester where his remit includes the People and OD Business Partnering service,, Employee Relations, Pensions, Reward, Employment Policy, and Well-Being.

Role: Vice Chair of Trustees


Andrew is an HR generalist by background, but he has particular interests in culture change, employee relations and engagement, leadership development, and EDI.

After graduating with a degree in Economics from the University of Birmingham, Andrew spent the early part of his career in HR in financial services as a Graduate Trainee and then as Personnel Officer in manufacturing before joining the University of Manchester in 1990.

Before the formation of Greater Manchester Education Trust, Andrew was a Trustee at the Education and Leadership Trust for eight years with the last four years serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Andrew is also a Trustee of the Booth Centre homelessness charity.
