Tom’s professional background has given him wide experience and expertise in the strategic management of safeguarding, including extensive experience in the investigation of safeguarding concerns and taking a lead role in supporting and directing people from a range of agencies in the investigation and management of safeguarding issues.

Tom has also worked within a local authority area to ensure that there were effective safeguarding systems and processes in place, including the roles and responsibilities of different agencies.

Tom has been a senior manager in health and social care organisations and has been responsible for delivering effective strategic leadership, where there is a focus on the vision for the organisation, the establishment of clear objectives and ensuring that systems and processes are in place to ensure delivery of the outcomes that are desired. Throughout his career, Tom has been responsible for the establishment of new services which have required a strong project management approach using established processes for achieving change in a timely and effective way. In addition Tom has significant experience as a governor at other educational establishments.
Tom is currently working as a Trustee of Manchester Care & Repair, a charity providing a range of services to older and vulnerable people in Greater Manchester.

Thomas has a BA Economics degree and a MA In Social Policy as well as a Social work qualification. His skills in strategic leadership and project management and wider understanding of the social, and other factors that affect student progress and wellbeing, will assist schools in providing an effective and safe environment for students.
