Role: Trustee (Board of Trustees)
She has held numerous roles with responsibility for the formulation of economic growth policies, commissioning and project management of schemes (£2m to £5m per annum), business development, including marketing of training provision, supporting the delivery of a Government pathfinder project (£12m) in collaboration with internal and external agencies to improve training and employment outcomes for the residents of Greater Manchester. She currently works nationally with Government Departments to develop new policies on skills and employment, including careers provision to ensure that these meet the current and future demands of employers. Bushra is also a qualified and experienced post-16 lecturer with extensive knowledge of the educational landscape.
Bushra served on the Parrs Wood High School Governing Body from 2011 – 2016. During this time she was an active member of the Governing Body and a range of Committees, including Resource Management, Standards, and Curriculum, Head Teacher Appraisal and Pay. Since then she has continued to play an active role on the board and several committees as a Trustee and Vice-Chair of the Greater Manchester Learning Trust (GMLT).
Additionally, Bushra has lived in the area for over 25 years. She has a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and the local community with an ambition to improve educational outcomes for all school pupils in the Greater Manchester Education Trust.
