Rose Hill Primary School – A New Era ( Published: 10/11/2025)

We are delighted to present our proposal for Rose Hill Primary School to join a multi-academy trust and become part of a vibrant and collaborative network of schools, united by a common vision.

This partnership opens the door to endless opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation. By becoming part of a wider family of schools, we will be able to share expertise, inspire one another, and access even greater resources to support our pupils, staff, and community. Together, we will build on the many strengths that already make Rose Hill special, while embracing fresh ideas and possibilities that will continue to contribute towards every child thriving and achieving their very best.

Rose Hill will continue to uphold its unique character and values, and joining the Trust will enhance our community with added support, expertise, and opportunities. Becoming part of GMET will not alter the qualities that make Rose Hill such a distinctive and valued school. Our core values, name, uniform, dedicated staff and admissions criteria will all remain the same. What will change, however, is the level of support and opportunity available to us. By joining a well-established and forward-thinking Trust, Rose Hill will benefit from the collective strength, stability, and expertise of a wider educational community. This collaboration will empower us to share best practice, enhance professional development, and continue driving improvement so that every pupil can thrive and succeed well into the future.

We welcome your thoughts on this proposal. Please take time to explore the information and share your views – we want to hear from you.

Why GMET?

Rose Hill and GMET share a deeply aligned vision and set of values that place excellence, care, and respect at the centre of everything we do. At Rose Hill, our commitment to delivering exceptional education and pastoral care within a warm, inclusive environment perfectly complements GMET’s ethos and strategic direction.

At Rose Hill, our commitment is to deliver the highest standards of education and pastoral care for every pupil. We take particular pride in our SEND provision, both within the mainstream setting and through our resource base, which reflects our dedication to inclusivity and personalised support. We are eager to deepen collaboration with our family of schools, exchanging best practice and learning from one another’s expertise to continuously enhance outcomes. Additionally, guided by a shared commitment to evidence-informed practice, this partnership allows us to broaden the influence of educational research across all phases of learning, ensuring that knowledge, wellbeing, and opportunity remain central to every child’s educational journey.

Through partnership with GMET, Rose Hill will gain valuable insight into the secondary phase of education—strengthening continuity for pupils as they transition to high school and enabling earlier, more effective intervention to address the challenges children may encounter in our communities. Equally, our expertise in primary education will provide rich learning for our secondary colleagues, helping to refine their understanding of how to build upon the strong foundations established in the early years of learning.

In addition, collaboration with other primary schools within the Trust, such as Alexandra Park Primary in Stockport (rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024), will create new opportunities to further enhance our curriculum, teaching and learning.

Ultimately, this partnership represents a true collaboration built on mutual benefit—bringing together the collective strengths, expertise, and ambition of both Rose Hill and GMET to ensure that every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

What Will This Mean for Children?

Children at Rose Hill will continue to benefit from the same high-quality teaching, personalised care, and nurturing environment that they experience every day – those aspects of school life will remain at the heart of everything we do. What will develop, however, is the depth and effectiveness of the support structures operating in the background. By enhancing the professional guidance, training, and leadership capacity available to our staff, we’ll be able to build even greater stability and innovation across the school. This added layer of support will ensure that every child at Rose Hill has the strongest possible foundation to achieve academic success, develop confidence, and flourish both inside and outside the classroom.

What Will This Mean for Staff?

Staff will benefit from an enhanced range of professional learning and career development opportunities, supported by meaningful collaboration with colleagues across our wider family of schools. Within the Trust, professional growth is guided by a well-defined framework that offers clear leadership pathways, flexible career progression, and the freedom to innovate and exchange best practice. This structured yet dynamic approach ensures that every member of staff is empowered to develop their skills, broaden their experience, and contribute to a collective culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and shared success.

What Will This Mean for Parents?

In the day-to-day life of the school, families and pupils are unlikely to notice significant changes. The same dedicated staff, caring environment, and strong values that define our school will continue to underpin everything we do. However, behind the scenes, the school will be strengthened through enhanced support, increased operational capacity, and access to a broader network of expertise and professional learning. This additional infrastructure will enable staff to focus even more effectively on teaching and learning, ensuring that every child continues to benefit from the highest standards of education, care, and opportunity.
