Richard was previously a Governor at Whalley Range 11-18 High School and, following its conversion to academy status, became a Trustee of the Education and Leadership Trust, where he also chaired the Finance and Audit Committee.
He stood down from this role following the merger that led to the formation of Greater Manchester Education Trust (GMET).
He is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Greater Manchester NHS Integrated Care Board and Chair of its Audit Committee. Prior to his retirement, Richard served as City Treasurer of Manchester City Council and Treasurer of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Richard brings extensive experience in public sector finance, audit and governance, including significant expertise relating to schools and a wide range of public services.
